Terms of Service

You may use kojo only if you can form a binding contract with us and are not barred from doing so under any applicable laws. You must be at least 16 years old, or the minimum age required in your country to use online services without parental consent, whichever is higher. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you confirm that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

By using the Service you represent that all information you provide is accurate and that you will keep it up to date.

To use most features you must create an account using a valid email address, a username, and a password. You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly at [security@justkojo.com] if you suspect any unauthorised use. We are not liable for losses caused by stolen or compromised credentials that result from your failure to keep them secure.

kojo is a goal-setting tool that lets you create personal goals, join group goals with others, challenge friends head-to-head, and post updates, comments, and reactions on goals. We may add, change, or remove features at any time, and we may set limits on certain features or restrict access without notice or liability.

“User Content” means anything you submit to the Service, including goal names, descriptions, progress updates, comments, reactions, and profile details. You retain ownership of your User Content. By submitting it, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable licence to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute that content solely for the purpose of operating, providing, and improving the Service.

You are solely responsible for your User Content and confirm that you have the rights necessary to share it and that it does not violate these Terms or any law.

You agree that you will not:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
• Post content that is harassing, defamatory, hateful, threatening, obscene, or that infringes anyone's rights.
• Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone.
• Upload viruses or malicious code, or otherwise attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or compromise the integrity or security of the Service.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other accounts, systems, or networks connected to the Service.
• Scrape, harvest, or collect data about other users without their consent, or use automated means to access the Service except as expressly permitted.
• Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without our prior written permission.

We may investigate and take appropriate action against anyone who, in our sole discretion, violates this section, including removing content and suspending or terminating accounts.

kojo lets you connect with friends and participate in shared goals. Content you mark as visible to friends or groups may be seen, copied, or re-shared by those people. We are not responsible for how other users use information you choose to share. Treat other members with respect.

The Service — including its name, logo, design, text, graphics, and software — is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the rights expressly granted to you in these Terms, we reserve all rights in and to the Service. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works of any part of the Service without our written permission.

We rely on trusted third-party providers to run the Service, including infrastructure and authentication provided by Supabase. Your use of the Service may be subject to those providers' terms. The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any content (including your goals and progress data) will always be available or accurate. kojo is a productivity and motivation tool and does not provide medical, fitness, financial, or professional advice; you are responsible for the goals you set and the actions you take to pursue them.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, kojo and its officers, employees, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service. To the extent liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 50. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you, and you may have additional rights.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless kojo and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your User Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or any law or third-party right.

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time if you breach these Terms or if we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect the Service or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will continue to apply.

These Terms are governed by the laws of [Governing Jurisdiction], without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of [Governing Jurisdiction], unless mandatory law in your country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings in your local courts.
